Featherbeam Finishes — Iron Color & Beyond

Our beams come in a natural iron color through and through — and now in black steel. Every finish is designed to be indistinguishable from the real thing.

Available Finishes

Natural iron color Featherbeam — close-up showing authentic steel texture

Natural Iron

Standard

Our signature finish. The EPVC is colored iron-gray through and through — no paint needed. Light scratches and blemishes are visible, just like real steel. That makes them even more believable.

Color runs through the full thickness of the material. Cannot be scratched through to a different color.

Black steel color Featherbeam — deep charcoal finish with authentic surface texture

Black Steel

Standard

Like our iron color, the Black Steel EPVC is through and through. Light scratches can be seen — this enhances the beam's realistic appearance and adds to the industrial character.

Deep charcoal-black with subtle surface variation. Pairs beautifully with orange or yellow accent elements.

Real Rust Finish

Add-on

A genuine rust patina applied to the surface of the beam for an authentic aged-steel look. Each piece is unique — no two beams look exactly the same. A durable clear coat is applied over the rust to prevent it from rubbing off.

Real oxidation process applied to the EPVC surface. Sealed to prevent further corrosion or transfer.

Custom Painted

Add-on

Featherbeams can be custom painted in virtually any color using a professional automotive refinishing system. This allows us to achieve accurate color matching with a durable, high-quality finish.

If you prefer to paint the Featherbeams yourself, they are compatible with standard latex and acrylic paints.

Material Science

Color Through & Through

Unlike painted steel, Featherbeams EPVC is pigmented through the full thickness of the material. A scratch doesn't reveal a different color underneath — it just looks like a scratch on real steel.

Some blemishes and light scratches can be seen on our natural iron color. That makes them even more believable, since real steel is never without scratches and color variations.

If you choose to paint your Featherbeams, regular latex/acrylic paint (such as Sherwin Williams) adheres perfectly. No special primer required for most applications.
